Thanks, Lara! Actually the yellow is the sky, so the upper third of the picture is sky. The mirage phenomenon occurs just above the sea surface in a thin layer of air, which is warmed up by the sea. The strongly varying temperature at different heights refracts the light causing the illusion of a floating island.
