Wow, what a nice picture. The flirring lights of the aperture (Blendenflecke) and the busy finish ant. You've surprised me again.

I agree with Maja, what a nice picture indeed!
A red ant... I have a bad experience with those... when they sting, it really hurts! ;)

Thank you, Maja and Cynthia! I wasn't so satisfied with this picture myself, but since I spent a long time trying to catch one of the very quick ants with my camera, I just wanted to publish one of the best shots. Actually this small ant wasn't red, but all black and friendly. :) It only looks a little red here because of the bright sunlight that makes its body "transparent".

My mistake! ;)

I know exactly what you mean when you say you spent quite some time trying to capture one of them with your camera. I tried once, but they were on sort of a rope. It's like you said, they are very quick. I thought I could catch one when two of them meet, you know; they stop for a moment, head to head, and then continue on... But no, even then they were too quick for me, those little devils! =) So in the end I gave up... Defeated by ants... lol

Anyway, I think you did well in publishing your photo despite the fact you weren't totally happy with it. I'm definitely not a pro, and I'm learning every day. But I still think it's a nice shot.

A nice weekend to all!

This is an amazing photo.
I have never seen anything like it.
The lighting is perfect, and the angle.
Congrats on the shot. :]

Although looking at this photo make me rather hungry.
