Helsinki: Evening view over the frozen North Harbour from the district of Katajanokka. On the left is the older one of the Hanasaari power stations, which is due to be demolished.

You captured great light (sunset, I suppose) again. Like that, even a power station looks "attractive" ;-)

Again a great picture. Interesting how sunset can make industrial buildings looking fine.
Will the Hanasaari power station be re-build or will the other one (?) take over all the work?

Theo, the old power station hasn't been used for more than five years. No new power station will be built there instead, but the newer one remains in use for fifteen years or so. Some people would like to see the old power station being preserved for art and cultural purposes, but as it seems now, it will be demolished during next year. Later in the future a new residential area might rise where the power stations are now.

Niklas, interested to read your comments on preseving industrial buildings for art and cultural purposes. I am a huge fan of Tampere which, to my mind is a prime example of the Finnish skill in converting an industrial townscape into a fascinating cultural centre. If any of your fans haven't been there I can highly recommend the city.
For me Tampere ranks as my favourite Finnish city followed by Helsinki, then Porvoo and then Turku (never been to the more northerly ones though). Any thoughts, anyone?
