Kotka: A family of mute swans escorted the Mexican sailing ship Cuauhtémoc, also seen in the previous photo. The ship participated in the Parade of Sails, which concluded the Tall Ships' Races in Kotka, a city on the southeastern coast of Finland. The journey towards Stockholm (Sweden) had just begun.

...a wonderful escort. Who can say having been escorted by a swan family?
Niklas, could you check how long the escort lasted? :o)
Again: Great. Thanks !!

Another classic example of not just being in the right place at the right time, but having the intelligence to realise it and the skill to capture it on camera. That is your talent, Nik.

Iain, thank you very much! :)

Theo, you mean I should go to Stockholm or Mexico to look for the same swans? ;)

:-)...I think you would do if you have the time. But it would take to much time and we all have to wait days and days before we see another wonderul picture from Niklas.

So it is better (for us) that you stay in and around HEL. :-)

It looks, as though the swan-parents are actually watching the race, whereas the "kids" just couldn't care less. Almost like in "human" families ;-))
