Helsinki: A long exposure shot from the corner of Aleksanterinkatu and Katariinankatu streets in the district of Kruununhaka. In the middle is the oldest building of Helsinki, the Sederholm house, built in 1757. The colourful lines are caused by two trams, one of which is turning around the corner just in front of my camera.

A bit spooky but funny effect!
Niklas, are that blinds, paintings or curtans behind the windows and is that original (also very old)

Gré, I think the figures are made on semi-transparent glass panes, which are set up just behind the actual windows. The figures are lit up by a row of small lamps down in front of the glass panes. The decorations were installed last year because of the 250th anniversary of the house.

How come, there are no people walking on the street that early in the evening? I mean, that is quite a central spot...

Oké, it gives a very nice effect to the building!

Maria, actually I think there were a few people passing by, but since they were moving, the long exposure time (30 seconds) made them "invisible". You can see that also the two trams captured in the photo are quite invisible except for the illuminating parts of them.

Niklas, I was just wondering, because this one car on the street (look, as if it is turning right) is slightly visible, and I was thinking, that cars move faster than people walking in the street. Therefore I would have thought, that pedestrians leave traces as well.

Maria, the car is visible only bacause it stopped for a while to let a tram pass first.
