Very nice picture, with those lines and colours. Why do you name it a basin. Is it closed from the sea? It's such quiet water!

By clicking the link in the caption you get a map, where the Cholera Basin is located in the middle. You can see it's connected to the sea, but usually the water there gathers a lot of junk. Beneath the map you find a short explanation of the origin of the name. Actually I didn't know why it's called the Cholera Basin until I published this photo and looked for some information about it.
