Turku: The Turku Cathedral and thousands of gerbera flowers on a warm summer evening. The church inaugurated in 1300 is situated in Turku, the oldest city of Finland.

Funny, that the gerbera grow so `in the wilde`. We have also all kind of flowers in the city(parks) mostly roses but I never saw Gerbera's. I love them for their deep warm colours and they stand now in the livingroom in my special Gerberavase. They look like a rainbow in front of the church.

Those aren't wild flowers - they were placed there in little plastic pots. My (fuzzy) photo of the sign near the display says that the flowers were for an artwork called "Gerbera Dream".

Tuuli, thanks for mentioning that. My intention was to do the same, but I seem to have forgotten. The flowers were there only for one week, and after that people were allowed to carry them away.
