Hanko: View from the southern cliffs of Högholmen headland in Tvärminne, about 10 kilometres east of the city of Hanko in the southernmost part of Finland. Photo taken soon before sunset, when the last sunshine of the day glowed in the landscape.
The same pine tree can be seen in my photo taken on August 6th, 2006.

.....45 minutes earlier ~~~~ and you still can see the sun. This picture gives you the impression that you have all the time of the world. Niklas, again a great moment you captured.

Theo, thanks for your comment. Please explain what you mean with 45 minutes earlier, since I'm not sure I understand you. :)

Niklas, I guess Theo means that this picture was taken 45 mins earlier than the one you took of the same place in August 2006.

Iain, I thought that too, but the difference in time is only 39 minutes. :)

Niklas, sorry for confusing you. It was a rough calculation only - not exactly.
Iain - excellent. You are right. Thanks for the comment.

Theo and Iain, excellent! :) But I'm still not sure I understand the point of Theo's comment. As we can see there's a difference between the two pictures both in the time of the day and in the time of the year they were taken. The picture of 2006 was taken 39 minutes later, but 17 days earlier. Regarding the times of sunset 17 days corresponds roughly to 48 minutes. That means, in fact, that in a way this picture was taken later than the one of 2006 - if we base our view on the height of the sun.
Theo, was any of this what you were thinking? ;)

Niklas, okay. I agree. If you calculate this way it is fine. From my very quick perspective - when looking first to this year's one and then to the one from 2006 - I only mentioned the time difference between the shown hours (equals to 39 minutes). It was the view of a spectator only.
Hope this may help to make you understand my rough calculation. Thanks a lot.
