I'm originally from a major coal producing state, West Virginia, so I am curious as to whether Finland has its own coal supply or receives its coal from somewhere else in Europe.

Frank: according to Wikipedia Finland has no coal mining. The main importer is Russia with USA and Canada some way behind. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_in_Finland for more details.
