Helsinki: A courtyard on Kolmas linja street (building #5) in Kallio district. Combined of four separate pictures. The yard is visible as a white-bordered shaft in this Google satellite picture.

I like your eye for details: you captured the symmetry of this 'eye to the sky' very well.
BTW Is the same building on one of your pictures of September 27, 2005?

Thanks, Theo! I have to say you are very observant. Yes, the same building and its "shaft" can be seen in my picture taken from a hot air balloon on September 27th, 2005. The building is on the far right of the picture, about in the middle (in the up-down direction).

What the hell is that?

You mentioned four separate pictures. Mind if I ask what photo-stitching software you use?

I used the ArcSoft Panorama Maker 3.0, which came along with my Nikon camera. The stitching really wasn't an easy procedure, since I had to do a lot of manual adjustments.

You mean manual adjustments *within* Panorama Maker, or did you do any post-processing? My Canon comes with an in-house software called PhotoStitch, but sometimes you can still blurring on the overlapping seams.

Albert, the pictures just didn't match together. The seams were clearly visible still after the manually adjusted stitching, so post-processing was necessary. The result of the automatic stitching was a pure disaster. :)
