Kotka: Christmas Eve in Katariinanniemi Park in Kotka, a city in southeastern Finland. Green grass is rare in December, but the month was the warmest on record in southern Finland.

Hello - what's that? Really a photo from Christmas Eve? It looks more like a summer photo. Green grass in the winter?
I would like to see this Park scene again with a lot of snow.
Will it be possible this winter time?

Yes, i must say it's quite impressive this green for December in Finland ! And if i am not wrong, i see sunshine reflecting on it, isn't it so Niklas?

Theo, as you've probably guessed, I wouldn't have published this photo in the summer. :)

I really hope we'll have some snow and chilly days later this winter. At this time of the year it's sometimes possible to walk on the frozen sea around Helsinki, which is something I really enjoy. It takes weeks of cold weather until the ice gets strong enough for walking. Now there's no ice at all!

Evi, yes, there's sunshine. It was a partly sunny day.

Yeah, the walking on ice is fantastic! Well, at some point, winter will come, I'm sure, probably around Easter ;-)

It's official, this has been the warmest December ever measured in Finland.

Sampsa, that isn't the case for northern Finland.

My bad then. I must have misread the news. :|
