Helsinki: A tram from 1959, car 12, passes Jumbo, a replica of an even older tram. The purple tram is car 152, also seen in my photo from Oct 13th, 2006. View from the Market Square.

Hello Niklas
Do these trams ride every day or only by special occasions. I love the colours and the looks.

Hi, Gré!
The green tram is in regular traffic, except for the weekends. It's the oldest tram still in use, and it's serving on route 1.

The wooden tram on the right (called Jumbo) is actually brand new, and hasn't been used yet. It was built according to a tram used until 1954, and will only be used for special occasions.

The purple tram was bought from Mannheim (Germany) a few years ago together with three of its "sisters". All four are in frequent use, since Helsinki has serious problems with its new low-floor trams.

This picture just made me smile, its full of life and colour and reminds me of British summer holidays in places like Blackpool.
