Quite nice, but the horizon is rather high. Probably it would have been even nicer with a bit more sky at the top and a bit less darkness at the front.

Thanks for your comments! Wessel, I tried different angles, but finally liked this the most. Perhaps the horizon could have been a little closer to the middle, but I didn't like that version, where it was exactly in the middle. I also took a photo with the horizon below the middle, which I thought was quite ok.

The stone in front breaks the darkness and gives the foto some magnificent depths. And I just love the intensity of the colors! Just another wonderful picture, thanks Niklas

Ninni, in fact the stone was a major reason for choosing this version. Thanks for your good point! :)

Amazing colours! Great! Niklas you make at some your photos a specific, magical atmosphere, which I love! I like these photos :D
Niklas, I have one question. I would like see Cirrus Tower when I will be in Helsinki. Could you show me any map, where is it? I get there by metro to Vuosaari?

20.06.2007 (19:51)

Niklas Sjöblom

Jagoda, thank you so much!! :)

I've put the Cirrus tower on Google Maps for you. By changing to the satellite view and zooming the map you'll notice that Vuosaari metro station is located just about 150 metres northwest of Cirrus. In fact I'm quite sure you can't avoid seeing Cirrus after exiting the metro station.

Why are you so interested in seeing Cirrus? I'm afraid you can't enter the building. Originally there were plans for a café on the top, but unfortunately the plans never turned into reality. :(

Niklas thank you for advice!!! :D

Hmm...I read that Cirrus tower is the highest building in Helsinki. I know that it isn't so high (about 12-15 floors) but it is sign of city. I read that at this island is modern district, too - so it will be nice see this place...
Have I right?

~~~~ I'm so lucky to see Hel(l)sinki ;) ~~~~
Jagoda, actually Cirrus has 26 floors, and is (so far?) the highest residential building in Finland. Maybe you like Vuosaari, maybe not, I don't know. ;) On the seashore near Cirrus lies Aurinkolahti residential area, which has lots of new buildings.
Niklas, Cirrus has 26 floors? Wow, it's really far :) In Bydgoszcz the highest building has only 15 floors, but in our capital - Warsaw some building have even 40 floors!
Greetings :)
Jagoda,
If you like high buildings there is one in the downtown of Helsinki, no skyscraper but anyhow a building with long history; the hotel "Torni" which means nothing less that a tower. You can get up there into a tiny restaurant and you will have a view over the complete town from there. I'm from Finland myself, living in Munich, Germany already since more than 10 years, still, every time I make a trip to Finland I go up to Torni.
Have a good stay in our capital!!!
